About

About Our Church

The Church of the Livingstone is a place where people who are searching, heartbroken, or seeking knowledge of the word of God can find a welcoming community. We believe in the power of discipleship to help individuals grow in their faith.
We are committed to serving the local community through various outreach programs, including monthly street evangelism, clothing and food donations in July, and an open concert to connect with the neighborhood..

Our Mission

WE FOCUS ON GOD’S THRONE. We prioritize the ministry of worship and praise, believing every person’s first mission is to glorify God and exalt His Son, Jesus Christ the LORD; we openly extol His glory in our gatherings and in our daily lives.

WE HONOR GOD’S WORD. We model all ministry according to the Holy Bible and acknowledge its absolute authority in our personal lives; believing its truth alone can free us. Its tenets alone should guide us, and its teaching alone will grow us into the likeness of Jesus Christ.

WE OBEY GOD’S CALL. We proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, reaching with God’s reconciling love to every person and every nation in every way we can, serving human needs with acts of mercy, and seeking eternal souls with the truth of salvation’s promise through the cross and resurrection of the reigning King, Jesus Christ.

We serve the Body of Christ through discipleship.

We serve the community:  We seek and are committed to building relationships and have intentional and strategic partnerships where we can work alongside the work God is already doing in our city.

We serve the world

We believe God has called us to be a church that follows Him by turning our hearts and focus to the world by serving our neighbors where they are.

Our Beliefs & Values

THE BIBLE

  • The Bible: We believe the Bible to be the only inspired, infallible, authoritative Word of God, which sets God’s absolute moral standards for our thoughts, words, and actions – 2 Timothy 3: 16-17
  • God: We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – 1 John 5: 6-8
  • Jesus Christ: We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death, His return in power and glory – John 1:1
  • Salvation: we believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, repentance towards God, faith in Christ, and regeneration by the Holy Spirit are essential – John 3: 16; Romans 10: 9-10
  • Sanctification: We believe the believer in Christ is called to sanctification through identification with Jesus Christ in the death and resurrection – Galatians 2: 20.
  • The Ministry of the Holy Spirit: We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling, empowering, and gifts Christians are enabled to live a life of godliness and effective service – Acts 1: 12.
  • Divine Healing: Much as we recognize that medicine and medical science are God’s gifts to mankind, we believe that, far beyond what medicine can do, God can heal in response to prayer for the sick, as outlined in James 5: 14-15.
  • Resurrection: We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost, those who are saved unto the resurrection of life and those who are lost unto the resurrection of damnation – Daniel 12: 2.
  • World Evangelization: We believe that all Christians should be committed to fulfilling the Great Commission as outlined in Matthew 28: 18-20, thus making it possible for the Gospel to be preached to all the world’s people.
  • Christ’s Second Coming: We believe that Jesus Christ, our risen and ascended LORD, will come again for His Church, a Bride without spot or wrinkle. His coming will be literal, in a glorified body, and will come to rapture the Church after the antichrist’s tribulation of the Church but before the wrath of God is poured out on the unbelieving world (Acts 1: 11-12; 2 Thessalonians 2: 1-4).

Our Emphasis

  • Adherence to the Word of God.  Biblical illiteracy can be a tool in the devil’s hand against believers, and spiritual works have historically fallen into error or imbalance whenever the Word has been neglected or disobeyed.
  • Exaltation of the Lord Jesus Christ: We acknowledge His majesty and pre-eminence in all realms and His ministry to us as Savior, Baptizer, Healer, and soon-returning King.
  • The Ministry of the Holy Spirit.  His objective is to glorify Jesus, and He leads responsive people into dimensions of fruitfulness and fulfillment.
  • Interdenominational Fellowship: We recognize the unity of the Body of Christ, the Church being the sum of those born again by faith.
  • The ministry of the believer: We believe that the Spirit-filled Christian is intended to become a fully authorized agent of the Kingdom of God. Baptism in the Holy Spirit is not an end but a means to service and godly living.
  • The Evangelization of the World: Reaching every individual with the Gospel is an unfinished task. We identify with the need to get the job done by all means.
